You must have proof of completing an online TPWD approved Hunter Ed course for admission to this class.

Hunter Education Registration

Internet and Field Course

    • For all ages – REGISTER below FIRST.
    • Complete a *FREE* INTERNET COURSE. Registration below.
    • Field Course FEE is $15 (check/cash) paid directly to instructor.
    • Description: 4 hours (min.) of field instruction including ethics discussion, simulated or live-fire activities, “hunter skills” trail and final exam.
    • Added $10 fee for range use is required.

NRA Hunter Education course is designed to help new hunters of all ages learn how to be safe and responsible members of the hunting community. From the organization that built the first-ever hunter education program in 1949, this course is the most comprehensive  hunter education instruction in the United States.
The 15-chapter, sequence featuring attention-grabbing videos, eye-catching graphics, interactive modules, audio recordings and dozens of action photos is available.

Course topics include:

  • Firearm and hunting safety: How to safely handle firearms and ammunition
  • How to safely handle firearms and ammunition
  • Hunting ethics and wildlife conservation: How to support conservation efforts and hunt in an ethical and sportsmanlike manner 
  • Hunting laws and regulations: How to obey all game laws and regulations
  • Hunting skills: How to improve your hunting skills, such as marksmanship and wildlife identification 
  • Survival skills and first aid: How to survive in the wild and provide first aid 
  • Responsibility to landowners: How to be responsible to landowners

Start time is 1:00 PM to approximately 5:00 PM.
